Emo Among Us

Written by admin in Emo Music

Emo is a style of rock music typically characterized by melodic musicianship and expressive, often confessional lyrics. It originated in the mid 1980s hardcore punk movement of Washington, D.C., where it was known as “emotional hardcore” or “emocore” and initiated by bands such as Rites of Spring and Embrace. As the style was echoed by modern American punk bands, its sound and meaning shifted and changed, blending with pop punk and indie rock and summarized in the early 1990s by groups such as Jawbreaker and Sunny Day Real Estate. By the mid 1990s numerous emo acts emerged from the Midwestern and Central United States, and several independent record labels began to specialize in the style. Nowadays, this style of music has been associated with fashion as well, along with the Emo sayings. It is sometimes labeled with tight jeans on males and females alike, long fringe brushed to one side of the face or over one or both eyes, dyed black, straight hair, tight t-shirts (usually short-sleeved) which often bear the names of emo bands (or other designer shirts), studded belts, belt buckles, canvas sneakers or skate shoes or other black shoes and in some cases thick, black horn-rimmed glasses. This fashion has at times been characterized as a fad. Emo quotes have also become popular due to the lyrics of the bands that play this type of music

Purpose of DVD in Me

Written by admin in Movies, DVD

I made it a pledge to collect movies that I really love and I was able to find a very reliable web site to provide me with most of the films that I want to have. I have been collecting for quite some time now and it was way back when DVD is not yet available. But of course, since DVDs have better quality now compared to a normal video CD, I have decided to reevaluate my collection and buy DVD versions of the video compact discs that I bought before, replacing them in the process.

I love the idea of going to my closet, selecting a movie of my choice and watch them anytime I want. My collection has also made me popular to my friends because I have become their personal consultant of which movies to watch in certain occasions. I even get to help them whenever they have dates because they get to borrow some from me that their partners really love to watch. I also collect tons of sports DVDs and my favorite ones are the ones from the National Basketball Association, since I like basketball so much. There are also some concert series in there of some of my favorite artists and bands over the years, from the Beatles to Jason Mraz.

And of course, my collection would not be complete without pro wrestling in it as I have a lot of DVDs in there, from pay per views to biographies. I guess what I really want here is to have some sort of time machine where I could look back at the past through the movies that I have.

I went to San Diego last week for a short trip to visit my friend in there who just recently relocated due to work, and we were able to have a great time together in there. I didn’t realize that San Diego is home for some great spots and restaurants and I really love the place. We were able to go to some restaurants that serves great food, particularly the OB Noodle House where they serve great Asian delicacies, Kitchen 1540 for some delicious gourmet, and the Riviera Supper Club and Turquoise Room where they serve some do it yourself steaks. We were also able to go to a couple of bars and they were really great chill spots…. but the most that I enjoyed there were not those places that we went to, but the sunglasses that I was able to buy. I was able to get a pair of Serengeti San Diego sunglasses that was perfectly designed for my taste, as well as the Spy sunglasses San Diego pair that I was also able to buy. They look really awesome and I wanted to buy more but the money that I brought with me is a bit limited.

Music Fanatics

Written by admin in Music, Party, Techno

My friends and I have been big fans of music from all genres and all forms. We jave developed a certain taste for it like no other because we do different kinds of analysis of music, unlike some other people who would just say the music is good, just because the beat sounds nice to their ears, without thinking through the whole song and making sure that the music is worthy of the phrase “good music”. We usually have different views of music. I have a friend that really loves pop, there’s one that likes reggae, I do alternative and hardcore rock, one who loves disco and techno, while one of us loves just about everything. They had a trip one time and I heard from them that Detroit techno is one of the best due to its sound, unique blend of instruments, and really upbeat and energetic auditory sensation. They said that this sound is uniquely created to soothe the taste of just about every partygoer in the state and in all parts of the world. Right now, I can’t seem to get enough of Indian music for some reason… maybe I have been watching too much Bollywood films that I began developing a taste for their kind of music.

It was a long and boring day for me as I tried to finish every work that my supervisor decided to give me in the office for a Friday night. By the time I finished everything, I was about to practically kill myself by eating all the paper works that I was able to finish that night when I heard Hayley William‘s voice singing “Misery Business” from my cell phone. It was my friend asking me if I am already finished with all the stuff that my boss decided to give me and if I was, just go to one of the nightclubs in Devon so we could have some old school partying with the gang. My head was filled with glee as I almost tried to throw all of my paper works in the paper shredder, in an office where I only saw myself being the only person left in there. I hurriedly run down the elevator, went to the parking lot and drove to Devon. When I got there, the gang was already complete and I was the only one missing the action. All of them were having a great time and I decided to forget work for a while and have fun with my friends. That has got to be the party that I have enjoyed the most in the entirety of my life!

I want to thank the makers of the Peanut comic strips, especially Charles Schultz art, because without it, I won’t be able to enjoy Snoopy and the rest of the gang almost every day when I was a kid. The Peanut comic strips have been a part of my life ever since and I am so happy that I was able to experience his works while growing up. I tried checking out some information about him last night and see his history when I came across a web site that is currently selling some pieces of his work with some autographs on them. I wanted to give it a shot and buy at least one of those autographs for sale but they are too expensive for my budget and I really wanted one badly. I am currently trying to come up with the money so I can buy Charles Schulz art. I was also able to see some movie memorabilia from a lot of artists and I think I am also interested in getting the Gone with the Winds first edition book that they are showing in there because I am also fan of the novel. Not so much of the movie though since I wasn’t alive that time when they made it.

Guitar and Me

Written by admin in Music, Guitar

I always wanted to learn how to play the guitar ever since I was a kind because I have been watching and idolizing a lot of the great guitar artists from Carlos Santana, Slash and of course the unparalleled master guitarist Eric Clapton. I grew up watching a lot of concerts, live and taped, and some battle of the bands contests within our area and I really like it when the contestants can bring the rock in to their guitars with their guitar solos. Yesterday, my friend told me that I should buy the Learn and Master Guitar guide so I could at least learn something and finally get to use my guitar at home that I have never played ever since I bought it. Although, even though I am impressed with the descriptions that I saw about the product, I still want to see some Learn and Master Guitar Review and see if this really works because the product is a bit pricy and I don’t want to waste money just in case. I found some reviews and saw the pros and cons of the product and I think I should look for some more before making my decision if I’m buying it or not.

I really love Green Day and their music… they are basically one of the best bands of all time and they certainly are legends already for being around the music industry when a lot has already broken up in only a very short period of time. Green Day has been around since 1987, which makes them existent for 22 years and counting, and has sold over 65 million records worldwide, including 22 million in the United States alone. They have won three Grammy Awards; Best Alternative Album for Dookie, Best Rock Album for American Idiot, and Record of the Year for “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”. Them have multi platinum record sales, which makes them one of the best selling bands in history and I really think they are already legends in the business. I just hope that they do repeat appearances for both T in the park, where they appeared in 2005 and V Festival in 1998. I already got my v festival tickets with my sister and T in the park tickets with my girlfriend from seatwave, and I really wish I could see them in both shows, or at least in one of the shows to make it more memorable for me.

Hoping to See Stars

Written by admin in Celebrities

I’m trying to score some Seatwave Reading Festival Tickets for of course the Reading Festival 2009 because I heard it would be one of the best ones that they will ever have due to the bands attending and performing and they said there might even be some Hollywood artists coming to attend the said event. I’m not really sure who but I am hoping to see all of my favorites from Steve Buschemy to Megan Fox, but of course it would be farfetched.

I remember the last time that I went to a Reading Festival I thought I saw Jack Black in the crowd. I was really excited that time because I really wanted to see the man in person and see if he really is the funny man that he portrays in front of camerafrea, unlike Mike Myers, who is only funny in his movies but not in real life. Anyway, I was approaching him closer and closer, much to my dismay, it wasn’t Jack Black but I actually know the guy… it was our neighbor from across the street, whom according to my sister is a perfect personification of the idiom couch potato. Anyway, my hopes are still high to find celebrities this year and I’m feeling this would be my lucky year.
